Dear Diary

“People don’t do anything until they are inspired. But once they are inspired there is almost nothing they will not do.”

Why are self-compassionate people so hard to find in this world?

Self-compassion should be the number one priority every day, but it takes a lot of responsibility. The misconceptions about self-compassion can easily lead you astray. The Bible tells stories about human nature, or more accurately, it depicts human behavior. We are led to believe these stories and teachings are about external circumstances, when in reality, they demonstrate the internal battle with our own mind, body, and spirit, but they are just acted out and performed with different people, in different places, with different things. When Judas betrayed Jesus for the second time, what followed was betrayal by many. The repercussions of denying self (twice) are equal to the effects of Judas’s second denial. Not everyone joined in the betrayal, but those who opposed the persecution were powerless until he rose again.

Response:

So, are you telling me that if I give myself a hard time about something embarrassing I did at work last week, but only tear myself down once during the day, I’ll end up forgiving myself and not be ruminating on it until the following morning? Deal… It also sounds like being mindful of common humanity will help too.
